Youth Mentoring

Welcome to youth mentoring! We pray that the information we provide will help you establish a powerful and effective ministry of discipling children. Youth mentoring is one of the most effective ways to minister to single-parent families and/or at-risk children. Statistics show that nearly one-fourth of America's children, over 10 million, live in a mother-only family. Over half of these children seldom or never see their fathers. In addition, over 2 million children live in a single-father family. God cares very much for all children, but many times He singles out the fatherless children.

We believe that it is God's will for the body of Christ to reach out to both the parents and the children of single-parent homes, children in foster care and group homes. We pray that the Lord will guide you and bless your efforts in reaching out to these children.

Family Discipleship Ministry has proven that youth mentoring is possible by establishing and successfully conducting a youth mentor ministry that over 450 children have completed. We have developed a 75-page manual with tried and proven procedures and methods to implement a youth mentoring ministry including in-depth instructions on how to get started, security measures, recruiting both mentors and children and how to avoid the pitfalls along the way.
